East and North Herts NHS Trust HR Team are overall winners at the HPMA Excellence in HRM Awards 2015


The HR team at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust won the top award of the night – the Overall Winner, at the HPMA Excellence in Human Resource Management (HRM) Awards 2015, on Thursday 18 June at Novotel London West.

Earlier in the night, the HR department at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust were named HR Team of the year. They showed evidence of excellent team working and exceptional performance and impact on frontline service delivery. From this, they were then selected by the judges from the 16 category winners to take home the Overall Winner award, sponsored by NHS Professionals. The judges felt there was great enthusiasm within the team and a credit to the service and profession.

The Trust’s HR team were named Overall Winner for their workforce transformation. To deliver on this transformation they consulted almost the entire workforce of 5000 colleagues through an extensive consultation exercise. They took all measures available to engage with the workforce to design new services and pathways of care.

From this workforce engagement, they developed a group of five innovative and comprehensive development programmes for every level of leadership across the Trust. This successfully replaced a disjointed programme of ad hoc programmes.

The HR team were so thorough that they even implemented re-deployment programmes to ease the impact of the changes on the Trust and its staff.
